Education is a deliberate and planned effort to create a learning situation and learning process so that the students can develop their potential actively to have spiritual power, self control, personality, intelligence, noble moral, and ability required themselves and society. Education has an ideal purpose. It wants humanity for human. Education not only changes people from being incapable to being capable of doing something, but also far more than that. It can transform people from wrong  to right, from bad to good. Education is not a matter of teaching. It is a human dialect in fulfilling the role as leaders on earth.
In Indonesia, education is appreciated in a celebration, called the National Education Day. It is celebrated on the birth date of Ki Hajar Dewantoro (May 2 1889 – April 28 1959; given name: Raden Mas Soewardi Soeryaningrat ) who is a National hero and the father of Indonesian national education.
Being the mascot of Indonesian education, with the famous teaching, Tut Wuri Handayani which means a teacher must be able to support and motivate, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa which means being among students, a teacher must create ideas and initiative, and Ing Ngarsa Sung Tulada which means in front of many students, a teacher must be a model and an example of good behavior. It’s a sentence containing the spirit of morality and progress. But what is Indonesian education like now?
Education is the key requirement for a nation who wish to progress, and advanced in the global competition. Education is the most important and the most strategic task which has to be performed by the government. Qualified human resource is the basic requirement of a good civilization. Otherwise unqualified human resource will produce a bad society.
The realization of such education visions, in spite of the reality  of the country’s education which is far from expectation and fat behind other countries, there are 3 thing which have to be paid attention ; First, the secular and materialistic paradigm of national education which fails in producing the wholeness of human quality, either physically of spiritually ; Second, the cost of education which increases from year to year ; Third, the quality of human resource which is too low to be able to compete globally. Therefore, to create good quality education, the education system must be improved. The celebration of national education day must be side by side with the improvement of the vision and also the quality of education in Indonesia.
